Getting Around:
Accommodations – When staying in a city like DC with all it’s historical impact, I would only stay at hotels with a similar connection to the city’s past:
-
- Hay Adams (Named after John Hay)
- Hotel Lombardy (Gracious Hospitality & Historic Charm)
- The Jefferson (1923 Beaux Arts building)
- Klimpton Hotel Monoco (Housed in DC’s original Post Office)
- The Mayflower Hotel (Fav lunch spot of J. Edgar Hoover)
- Omni Shoreham (the Beatles stayed here)
- Washington Marriott Wardham Park (Fav of many presidents)
- Watergate Hotel (No description necessary)
- The Willard (Abe Lincoln really did stay here)
Bottom line – Of course, since most historic hotels can vary in price, if you are on a budget, I would use points for whatever hotel chain you prefer or whichever hotel booking website you like (Hotels.com, Booking.com, etc.)
