Philadelphia, PA: Getting Around & Accommodations

Accommodations – Everyone has their favorite place to stay, but when staying in cities with a lot of history, I like staying at historic hotels:

Palm Springs, CA: Getting Around & Accommodations

Getting Around – Since you pretty much have to drive to get here, using your own vehicle is best. Parking is easy and generally, very reasonable.

Accommodations – Some of my personal favorites, as well as tips from a friend who LIVES for her trips to Palm Springs:

Nashville, TN: Getting Around & Accommodations

Getting Around:

    • LyftUber or taxis to and from the airport.
    • LyftUber or taxis to get around the city. No need to rent a car and pay for expensive parking.

Accommodations – generally historic in some way:

Key West, FL: Getting Around & Accommodations

Getting Around:

    • To and from the airport, I prefer Lyft or Uber. No need to rent a car.
    • Lots of bicycles to rent if you don’t want to walk – I walk pretty much everywhere.

Accommodations:

Since Key West is a HUGE tourist destination, there are hundreds of small hotels and B&Bs. Options include:

Memphis, TN: Getting Around & Accommodations

Getting Around – To and from the airport, I prefer Lyft or Uber. No need to rent a car and pay for expensive parking.

Accommodations – If you have the interest in the roots of music as I do, and like walking to see the sights…  I would recommend staying near Beale Street preferably at the historical Peabody Memphis, so you can watch the ducks. Here’s a few others locally with high ratings:

Chicago, IL: Getting Around & Accommodations

Getting Around:

    • LyftUber or taxis to and from the airport.
    • LyftUber or taxis to get around the city. No need to rent a car and pay for expensive parking.
    • Chicago “L” is the local rapid transit system, easy to use.

Accommodations:

    • Hyatt Place Chicago/River North is centrally located to “L” stops, Magnificent Mile & Navy Pier.
    • Radisson Blu Aqua Hotel is another great centrally located hotel recommended by a friend who travels to Chicago often.
    • Bottom line – Everyone has their favorite place to stay, so I would use points for whatever hotel chain you prefer or whichever hotel booking website you like (Hotels.com, Booking.com, etc.)

Seattle, WA: Getting Around & Accommodations

Getting Around – I prefer Lyft or Uber. No need to rent a car and pay for expensive parking.

Accommodations – My absolutely favorite place to stay in the city is Hyatt Olive 8 Downtown, but it’s always a good idea to utilize your hotel points with your favorite chain, or try Hotels.com or Booking.com for your personal preferences.

Independence, CA: Getting Around & Accommodations

Getting Around – Since you pretty much have to drive to get here, using your own vehicle is best. Parking is easy and free, or at least very reasonable.
